Hey Dudes I'm Back

#1  Postby Grimnar42 » Fri Jan 18, 2008 10:23 am

After a number of years out in the wilderness of computer game modding I have come back to actuall real life stuff and Apocylapse is looking sweet.

How is ya Col Stone, Wraithlord u guys still about u must be ole greybeards by now ??

I have decided that converting a mini generates more satisfaction than modding computer games.

BTW the forum were u can be unregistered and post doesnt work I must have been deleted or the site is different as I couldnt log in had to make a new profile.

So looks like I have a bit of reading to catch up on.

:santa: :drink: :gif: :good: :good:

Lot's of merry christmases and happy birthdays and so on:D
Glad to see you back Grimnar, the place hasn't been the same without you!!!

We're still here but my activity around here has dropped more than i'd wish for, to much real life stuff to deal with and a couple of new ideas about gaming has held me away..

I'm slightly bearded but it's not grey yet :)

We've been through a couple of sites since last, this one has been up a while tho, hope it lasts..
personally i still miss the good old green. pids site..

Anyhow, glad to see you're back mate

Good to be back amongst gaming people too much mental frustration in computer stuff but the good thing about it is my computer knowledge has increased somewhat. So what have u been making I have scratch built 3 hell blades 3 thunderbolts another Hellhammer Baneblade variant and a Shadow Sword.

I am single again and actually liking it (18yrs and she walks out) still have a daughter at home but changed careers from truckdriving to working with disabled kids. And got all interested in 40k again so expanding once again my armies.

OMG Ghaz is still here too

Still working with paper?
We need pictures :D

i've turned my apartment into a workshop, it's all about the miniatures now
i haven't scratchbuilt very much for 40k lately, mostly been working on a T80BV (russian tank) and painting miniatures for vietnam games..

Those really are some nice tanks. I am a bit jealous.

They are based on the Tony Cotterol (think thats his name) from an early white dwarf. At the time no baneblades were available anywhere. Compared to the new plastic GW baneblade these are a 25 to 30 mm shorter but the same width I dont have any forgeworld models to compare with but I suspect the forgeworld models are quite a bit larger even compared to GWs baneblade. Col Stone has a FW baneblade I think if he could post some basic meaurements we can compare.

BTW I have some photos here and am adding to them so check it out.

I actually think the oldschool baneblade is a bit bigger than the FW one.. :)

Welcome back my friend. Col is absolutely right when he says it hasn't been the same since you left. Got a scruffy beard going on now but no gray yet and is absolutely driving me crazy so it WILL be coming off soon.

I see from the pics that your scratch building ability certainly hasn't deserted you in the least :)

Right now, model wise, I am trying to finish off my Thousand Sons and in the time you were gone I built and painted an entire 2000pt Tau army as well. Here are a couple pics to show off

And here is the latest model I did that I spent a bit more time than normal on

Col, is that flames of war that you are painting those for (dig the rusted look on the tank btw).
