Unable to locate and add some auxiliary formations

#1  Postby ReyCV » Thu Jun 04, 2015 6:13 pm

Codex Eldar Craftworlds,
I have not been able to locate the following Auxiliary formations:

Engines of Vaul: I can locate the individual units (Falcons, Fire Prisms, Night Spinners) but when I add the three Falcon squadron to the army list the warning message tells me that the squadron is not part of a detachment or formation even though I have already selected the Guardian Battlehost Formation as a “Core choice” (page 95) and the Falcon squadron is added to meet the required “Auxiliary choice” minimum: “For each Core choice you must include between one and twelve Auxiliary choices, in any combination…”
I attempted to change the rules used by AB to verify the army list but the only Eldar option listed was “Eldar Codex 2013” and I decided to leave it as it was.

Wraith-Constructs: Same problems as above. When I add any of its components (Wraithknight, Wraithlord and Hemlock Wraithfighter) the message telling me that I must add the unit as part of a detachment shows up again or added if I already have other auxiliaries in the army list. This is not the same as the “Wraith Host”.

Outcasts: Same as above.

The very same situation is prevalent when I add any unit from the “Command choices”. “Heroes of the Craftworlds”, “Seer Council”, and “Living Legends” under “Regents of the Warhost” (page 94).

When I try to add or start my army list using the “Detachments” tab, the “Craftworld Warhost” is completely blank/empty and I can not find a way to add the different Eldar formations to it. The only way to create an army list that does not show me a warning message is when I use any of the three Core choices under “Guardian Hosts” and add the only three (out of seven) choices available under the Auxiliary choices; Aspect Host, Dire Avenger Shrine, and Wraithhost, pages 94-95.

Can anyone enlighten me about this situation? I just do not like the “Red light” on my face when I know that what I am adding to my army list is in compliance to the rules in the Codex.
Hope this information is useful.

I'm not familiar with the Craftworld codex, but first stop is to make sure you've read the stickied post at the top of this forum which is http://www.ab40k.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3234  - this explains how to drag and drop units into detachments, which you need to do to avoid the "Unit is not in a detachment" warning message.

The "Craftworld Warhost" detachment being empty is how it should be (as are other detachments), as it's an empty container that you drag units into to create the detachment. Make sure you read the linked topic carefully - you have to drag the unit using it's name, not it's parent container, eg to drag a Fire Prism into a detachment make sure you click and then drag the roster line that says "Fire Prism", not the one above it that says "Heavy Support: Fire Prism".

Thank you for the reply. I will read the post and explore AB to figure out this "drag & drop" method of creating the army list. I have the feeling that this method is meant to comply only with the "Core Rules Book" for 40K and not the Codex. I hope that some one adds the missing formations, that will make it so much easier (for me at least). As of now I can continue adding the units that make up the missing formations grouping them in the proper order and color coding the formations with highlighters so my opponents can see the relationship of the units with the formations and the Codex rules. Extra work but it is better than writing the whole army list by hand... "OH! the good old days".
Thank you for the great work that you do here... a labor of love (just like being in labor but without the pain... or maybe not so painless after all).

Drag and drop is the new hotness. With GW's recent formations and detachments, it is the only way to get them to work and count things properly.
