OK,

GW has published an official order of precedence between Index and Codex versions of Datasheets.  Specifically that the Index version is replaced by the Codex version plus any remaining valid options from the Index.

I think however that in case of Wargear (see the GW breakdown: https://www.warhammer-community.com/201 ... know/) it should remain an option in the Codex Datasheet. For example, a Blood Angel character uses the new Codex datasheet, but can still take a Jump-pack (as every Blood Angel player does) because it is available as a wargear option in the Index.

Answered elsewhere, thanks.

Ok,

Now what,

1) Aeldari in Index: Xenos 1
2) Aeldari in Chapter Approved 2017
3) Aeldari in Codex: Craftworlds
4) Aeldari in Chapter Approved 2017 errata.

What point cost do I use?

Priority has got to be...
CA17 FAQ/Craftworld FAQ/Druichi codex -> CA17 -> Craftworld codex -> Index Xenos 1

my half a cent opinion...

I really think this round of faq needs to be considered CA17 v1.1

The rules and points you use are the 1s that are the newest on the https://www.warhammer-community.com/faqs/ 40k site the only time you use the Index is when a Datasheet or Wargear does not appear in the codex as stated by the Designers Commentary PDF on page 6 which can be found at the URL just mention. So the order will be like Deano said for the Aeldari is
CA 2017 FAQ > Craftworld FAQ/Druichi codex > CA 2017 > Craftworld codex > Index Xenos 1 FAQ > Index Xenos 1

I just Edited this post to add Index Xeons 1 FAQ to the Order you use for Aeldari

I missed something: Index datasheets remain valid if not replaced in a Codex. I at least have to go in and look for these.
