My new Martian Skitarii

#1  Postby Rayne » Fri Jun 15, 2007 4:40 pm

Well, ive been buying and assembling the IG voted apon, and here are my Skitarri somewhere around the 50% mark during the assembly process. Im still finishing off some autocannons and grenade launcher minis, and nearly all of the lasguns still need working on. I put some extra photos of minis i thought i did well on. :)

Also, i decided, since this is Skitarii, that im going to make all my Veteran Sergeants as Techpriest minis, and my Officer for the command platoon is a Magos.

Anyways, heres the piccys!

While ive decided on a dark red with a grey/black sharp jag pattern uniform for my IG, i couldnt decide on a base, so i want you to decide the colors for my scenic bases. Ash wastes, or Arid desert. heres a pic of what i made for color testing.

ash wastes - would contrast well with the red in the uniform and also fit in with the 'indusctrialised' background of your army.

the lascannon team looks brilliant btw!!

Those are great. Hoenstly I can't wait till I get a free moment to run down to Imperial Outpost to see them. Too bad I have been so busy. Maybe I can get over there tomorrow.

Okay, Ive finished the modelling for all of my men for the 2300 points i usually field against a friend of mine, and i'll get some more photos of them later today... I hope. Ive got some errands to run today, so i might not get around to it.

I also come bearing battle reports! First ever fight with my Skitarii is a Victorious Slaughter against those misguided Ordo Malleus fools. Afterwards because of a con going on in Phoenix, we had a bunch of 40K players that was bored, so we did an impromptu Combat Patrol tournament, and i didnt end up in last place! (i was second to last tho! But its not last! Hehe.) Afterwards we just messed around and had some fun, some 500pt HQ only fights, and a 3v3 team combat patrol with Necrons, Blood Angels, and Skitarii on one side, and 2 Black Legion and 1 Tsons on the other. Black Legion owned.

Anyways, like i said. More pictures soon.

I keep telling you to get down here and we can play. Rayne also hangs at Imperial Outpost around the corner from my house basically.

I said that i would have some new photos for you all, and here they are! Straight off of Google's Picasa, fresh from my camera. 3 Photos, showing my first experiances with the Foundation Paints. Obviously im going to be using Mechrite Red, and i have to say, its rather nice. The thing is, you have to really water it down to get a good coating, and even then, with the amount of pigment in there, it has a tendency of grabbing dirt and dust out of the air and looking rather gritty on the model. Anyways, here you are. :)
