Spack,

I haunt the forums infrequently. When I do, it's Dakka Dakka or 40k On-line, or Warseer - but I don't know that I'd see something there. What I was wishing for in this case is something to pop-up when I went for updates within the program.

As a customer, I sort of expect the product to handle itself and function as expected - doing it's thing without me having to find something posted about it on another site. As a fan of the product and the system(s) it supports - I understand what's practical, and appreciate the volunteer nature of the data file authoring. In this one case, I wish there was a better middle ground. Weeks of disappointment when the update continued not to materialize was not the desired effect.

Updates were posted in the 40k News & Rumours forum on Warseer.

We also posted in the Army Builder Warhammer 40,000 forum at http://forums.wolflair.com/forumdisplay.php?f=21

As to the automatic updates, the reason that nothing has appeared yet is because the files have messed up the Space Marines, and it was decided that until the Marines were fully working again that the file releases would be made here on the AB40k site only for users to update manually and hopefully follow our instructions about installing in a different folder. While GK is shiny and new, the Marines make up the bulk of the player userbase and breaking those on everyone's install would have been a massive problem.

In the meantime, you can AB to alert you about further unreleased updates from us by following these instructions: http://www.ab40k.org/viewtopic.php?p=9465&f=8#p9465 . This adds our site as a source of update files and so any updates posted in our Downloads section will appear in the AB automatic updates list as available to download.

Do you need a hand with fixing up the Marines? Happy to help in any way I can.
