The Drop Zone @ dakkadakk says
Here are the confirmed rumors on the da codex....

Deathwing Information:

x5 man squad only, swith out to LC or TH for free, Heavy Flamer is 5pts, ML is 20, AC is 30(can only have one)

Fearless
215 for squad (43 pts each)

Death wing asault: up to half rounded up held in reserve may deepstrike in 1st turn...hold 4 in reserve and 2 come in auto 1st turn, the other two are in normal reserve.

Belial:MoDW
he is 130 pts, fearless, and has a MC power sword, that's it! Did a points comp. w/ a Marine Grand master, it's 130 also, so I guess he gets fearless and the more termi squads thing for free.

Scout Manstopper Rounds:
12" str 4 Assault 2

Master of Ravenwing: 205 points
power armour, ad. mantle, iron halo, (yes, 2 relics!) raven sword (mc PW), jetbike (tl storm bolter, plasma cannon), rites of battle, RW Co. Standard (all RW within 12" reroll morale & pinning, +1 attack)

can exchange for Speeder for free, looses iron halo & sword, and his stats are changed to a vehicles(no wounds, in, att, etc...) shield of night gives him av 14 in front and side, has TL hvy bolter and AC w/ BS 5.

Quote: Can the Land Speeder Tornado still take a multi-melta/assault cannon combo? Can Attack Bikes still mount a heavy bolter? Any other weapon options added to either unit?

yes: switch out HB to MM for free, any speeder can upgrade to Flamer+10 or AC+35; the bike squad upgrade speeder is HB AC with no upgrades available
yes: aout HB, switch to MM for +50 no

Some highlights/lowlights:
- The DW can only take 1 heavy weapon and must come in squads of 5.
- The only unit with access to teleport homers are ravenwing bikes (which come with them standard).
- No attack bike squads any more.
- Only 1 speeder in a squad can have an assault cannon. (hope you assault cannon babies are happy)
- Assault cannon prices have been jacked up. (hope you assault cannon babies are happy)

- DW and RW units are now fearless and the regular units have lost their intractable rule.
- New rounds for the whirlwind which ignore cover saves.
- All power armor marines now come standard with gernades and bolt pistol and must be lead by a veteran srgt.
- No veteran skills.
- Squads must be taken in sizes of 5 or 10 - 5 will give you access to a special weapon, 10 will give you access to a heavy weapon. A squad of 10 may be split into 2 scoring units at deployment.
- All named characters - no generic leaders.
- Most bare vehicles cost fewer points, but the upgrades cost more (extra armor for 15pts.)

doesnt seem too bad yet havent received my advanced copy will have it by wed

but if this is the shape of things to come marines just got hosed

I for one welcome the reintroduction of combat squads..
I've been whining about that one since they released 3rd edition

that, and anything that nerfs the ass.cannon, no more 3*dropping Landspeeders with asscannons behind my tanks:D

and i hear they're planning a new cypher mini,, hmm might have to review my new years promise of not buying any 40kstuff this year:)

Har har the Donkeygun got the Starcannon nerf x2!

I guess its true in 40k that you reap what you sow.

Eldar players abusing seer councils and starcannons -> NERF STICK

SM players abusing the Donkeyguns -> NERF STICK

Personally I like the nerfing of the min/max las/plas squads the best. No more Marine armies with 5000 bloody lascannons in it, now you have to use up points on actual models and maybe learn how to actually play a tactical game and not just mathhammer.

No one in my group plays Imperial Marines so I am one of the fortunate ones who hasn't had to deal with the Asscannon crap aside from at tournaments. It will be nice to see less of them on the table at once though, no doubt.

only prob though is that aren't these going to be just for DA players n not general restrictions?

Word is that there will be a Codex: SM Redux that will bring a lot of the DA stuff, most notably the squad rules, into use for all marine armies.
